BMI Calculator
Calculate your Body Mass Index from your height and weight — pounds and feet/inches first, metric available too.
How to use it
BMI compares your weight with your height: 703 × lb ÷ (inches)². Adults fall into standard ranges used by the CDC: under 18.5 is underweight, 18.5–24.9 is the healthy range, 25–29.9 is overweight, and 30 or above is the obese range. The result also shows the healthy weight range for your height.
Know its limits
BMI does not measure body fat directly. Muscular people can score “overweight” while being perfectly healthy, and it does not account for age, sex or where fat is carried. Treat it as a screening number to discuss with a doctor — not a diagnosis.
